The Gem and Jewelry Institute of Thailand (Public Organization), or GIT, has officially announced the 8th International Gem and Jewelry Conference (GIT 2025), to be held under the theme “Responsible Gem & Jewelry Supply Chain.” The event reaffirms Thailand’s position as a leading academic and innovation hub for the gem and jewelry industry in the region.
Renowned experts and thought leaders from around the world will gather to exchange knowledge, present cutting-edge research, explore the latest trends, and discuss strategies to advance the industry in line with global environmental and social sustainability goals. The conference will also serve as a platform to foster international collaboration across public, private, and academic sectors, with the ultimate aim of positioning Thailand as a global leader in gem and jewelry innovation.
GIT 2025 will bring together international experts, academics, researchers, designers, entrepreneurs, investors, and industry stakeholders to share insights, showcase academic work, and highlight innovations shaping the gem and jewelry sector. This year’s focus is on sustainability, with strong participation from domestic and international partners, including the Thai Goldsmith Association, Thai Silver Exporters Association, Chanthaburi Gem and Jewelry Traders Association, Gold Traders Association, and the Gemological Institute of America (GIA).
Mr. Sumed Prasongpongchai, GIT Director General, stated that the key objective of the conference is to elevate the standards of Thailand’s gem and jewelry industry and to build a strong international collaborative network. “This event not only showcases GIT’s academic excellence and leadership but also plays a vital role in shaping the industry’s future,” he emphasized. The conference will highlight responsible sourcing, innovative design, and ethical business models, while reinforcing Thailand’s image as “the world’s gem and jewelry manufacturing and trading hub.”
