IGJS Jaipur 2026 Attracts Over 230 International Buyers,
Highlighting India’s Growing Global Jewellery Trade Influence
The International Gem & Jewellery Show (IGJS) Jaipur 2026, organised by the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), has attracted more than 230 international buyers from 30 countries, reaffirming India's position as a leading global sourcing destination for gems and jewellery despite evolving geopolitical and economic challenges.
Being held from April 9 to 11 in Jaipur, the three-day B2B exhibition has brought together leading Indian manufacturers and overseas buyers on a highly focused sourcing platform. This year's edition features 85 exhibiting companies across 110 booths, showcasing a diverse range of products including diamond and studded jewellery, gold and silver jewellery, coloured gemstones, and lab-grown diamonds.

The event was inaugurated by Shri Sanjay Gupta, Chief Commissioner of Customs, Customs Preventive, New Delhi, in the presence of senior government officials and industry leaders, including Shri R. K. Chandan, Commissioner of Customs, Jaipur; Mr. Shaunak Parikh, Vice Chairman, GJEPC; Shri Yogendra Garg, Regional Chairman (Rajasthan), GJEPC; Shri Vijay Mangukiya, Convener – International Exhibitions, GJEPC; and Mr. Sabyasachi Ray, Executive Director, GJEPC.
During the inauguration, government officials underscored the importance of strengthening India's global trade competitiveness and highlighted ongoing efforts to facilitate international commerce through streamlined customs procedures and business-friendly initiatives. They also acknowledged GJEPC’s role in promoting Indian manufacturing capabilities and expanding the country’s export footprint.
Industry representatives noted that the strong turnout of overseas buyers from key markets such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe, Latin America, Oceania, the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, Russia, and CIS countries reflects sustained global confidence in India’s manufacturing ecosystem. The participation comes at a time when international trade is navigating shifting supply chains and geopolitical uncertainties, making reliable sourcing partnerships increasingly important.
GJEPC leadership highlighted Jaipur’s significance as one of India’s most important gem and jewellery centres, citing its integrated ecosystem that brings together sourcing, manufacturing, certification, and trade infrastructure within a single region. This ecosystem continues to make Jaipur an attractive destination for global buyers seeking quality craftsmanship and efficient supply chains.
International buyers attending the exhibition expressed appreciation for the depth of Indian craftsmanship, innovation, and manufacturing expertise. Participants highlighted the high standards of jewellery production, precision workmanship, enamel detailing, and finishing quality displayed by Indian manufacturers. Several buyers also pointed to emerging opportunities for collaboration, particularly in gemstone sourcing, product development, and design innovation.
The exhibition has also gained significance in light of expanding international trade opportunities, including the India–UK Free Trade Agreement, which is expected to enhance bilateral cooperation and improve market access for jewellery businesses in both countries.
India’s gem and jewellery sector continues to remain a significant contributor to the national economy. During FY 2024–25, the sector recorded exports worth USD 28.7 billion, accounting for nearly seven percent of India’s total merchandise exports. The industry remains one of the country's largest foreign exchange earners and employers.
Through IGJS Jaipur, international buyers are able to engage directly with India’s leading manufacturers, explore new product offerings, and establish long-term sourcing relationships. The exhibition serves as a strategic platform for fostering business partnerships and strengthening India’s role in global jewellery supply chains.
Beyond IGJS, GJEPC continues to expand India's global outreach through a series of domestic and international initiatives. Its flagship IIJS exhibitions—IIJS Premiere, IIJS Signature, and IIJS Tritiya—have evolved into some of the largest jewellery trade shows globally. The Council also promotes Indian manufacturers through India Pavilions at major international exhibitions such as JCK Las Vegas, Vicenzaoro, and leading trade shows across Hong Kong and the Middle East.
In addition, initiatives such as IJEX Dubai provide year-round sourcing opportunities for international buyers, while newer ventures like SAJEX in Saudi Arabia are helping Indian exporters tap into emerging markets. Through these efforts, GJEPC continues to strengthen trade relationships, create new business opportunities, and reinforce India's reputation as a trusted global hub for gem and jewellery sourcing.
