ICA GemBureau Middle East to provide broad range of resources to ICA members
The International Colored Gemstone Association (ICA) announced today that it has signed an agreement with AV Globale, a Dubai-based ICA member, to establish the ICA GemBureau Middle East, a Dubai-based dedicated facility designed to meet the needs of ICA members and trade representatives, including those based in the Middle East and overseas.
As part of its continuing effort to support the colored gemstone industry, the ICA works to partner with industry bodies and organizations worldwide to set up GemBureaus, which provide ICA members with information, knowledge, and expertise about colored gemstones. The ICA GemBureau Middle East will offer members fully equipped business center facilities, qualified administrative staff, and promotional support to conduct GemBureau activities. Open to all ICA members and members of the regional and international gems trade, GemBureau Middle East will host ICA member meetings and will be the centralized point of access in the region for all matters related to ICA. It will also represent the association at relevant trade shows and industry events.
“GemBureaus allow the ICA to more effectively further our Association’s mission, strengthens our direct contact with our members, and provides our members access to the materials and services that improve their businesses,” says Douglas Hucker, ICA CEO. “To accomplish this, we rely upon the generous material support provided by ICA members like AV Globale.”
ICA, a non-profit trade association that represents the international colored gemstone industry, has over six hundred members in forty-six countries worldwide. Earlier this year, a reflection of the importance of Dubai to the international colored gemstones trade, ICA held its biennial Congress in the emirate, which met with resounding success.
“We are delighted to be partnering with AV Globale in this joint venture and very grateful to Ashish Vijay and the team at AV” said ICA President Damien Cody, “ICA recognizes the importance of Dubai as a new trading hub not only for colored gemstones but also for diamonds, precious metals, and pearls. Having an ICA GemBureau providing services in the region is a big win, not only for ICA members but for the entire gem industry.”
